Sports Zone Announces Coverage of 2002
Once again, Oldham County Colonel and South Oldham Dragon football will be on the airwaves as Sports Zone radio brings you all the 2002 gridiron action on WTSZ 105.7 FM and AM 1600. Mike Montgomery celebrates his 24th year behind the microphone as the broadcast voice of Oldham County sports and will be joined for the second straight year Tom Hawkins. Hawkins - a longtime football and baseball coach at all levels within Oldham County - will handle the color commentary. The Colonels are pre-season ranked in the top 10 in both the Courier-Journal and BluegrassPreps.com polls; South Oldham comes into the season with a dominating defense and an improving offense, and hopes to return to the playoffs after a two-year absence. The 2002 broadcast schedule is full of top-caliber opposition, including top ten 4A opponents St. X and DuPont Manual, Louisville Holy Cross (#6 ranked in single-A), and perennial powerhouses Ballard and Central.
