The mainstay of a family is food and housing. Oldham County Red Cross is the only full-time food bank in Oldham County. We are able to provide less fortunate families with pantry staples plus fresh produce, canned & frozen food, personal hygiene products and diapers.

Winter-Help is a community wide effort to help families who cannot afford to heat their homes. For the past eight years this has been supported by individual donations including those who contribute through the Louisville Gas & Electric Company's Check-Off program.

Housing assistance is provided through the Kentucky Housing Corporation by way of a self-sufficency program. We provide a service for some section 8 clients, teaching them to be self-sufficient in their housing needs. Clients are required to meet with program directors in an attempt to keep them in the right direction.
