God has truly blessed this ministry for nine years
now. Our Board recently approved the building of the new wing which many
of you have been praying about for a long time with us. Jim is in the process
of getting all the "facts and figures" together and we hope to share all
the information with
our prayerful supporters very soon! The addition will allow us to support
much larger groups for retreats. We have been praying and have asked for
your support in prayer for God to send us a "missionary - minded couple
to help us reach more people. Our belief is that God will deliver and we
are planning for an apartment in the new wing just for this purpose.
We will have a building that forms a cross when
it is completed. The cross is where Jesus gave His all for us and we look
forward to finishing this lodge building which will symbolize our "cross
at 'the Plantings". The plans call for thirteen new guest rooms, three
new double-facility bath rooms and, of course, the apartment which consists
of a living room, bath, kitchen, bedroom, and deck. The plans, also, call
for the wing to be carpeted, air-conditioned and each guest room large
enough to accommodate a double bed and one set of bunk beds. We will be
able to house (overnight)
thirty-nine guests without anyone sharing a double bed. We will, also
gain a second large meeting room on the lower floor of the existing lodge
building. When we have small groups we will be able to serve two groups
at the same time; as many as fifteen to twenty guests upstairs and as many
as twenty-four to thirty-two downstairs, This will allow us to provide
a place of ministry to more church
groups and help cover our basic costs with small groups, Presently,
we are limited to a maximum of thirty people and often have a small group
of eight to twelve guests for overnight.
First and foremost-----PRAY!!! Please keep
us and our Board members in your daily prayers, Pray that we continue to
seek God's will for each of us in our own daily lives and that The Plantings
seeks to reach and teach those who need God's love and mercy. Our goal
is to expand our facility to allow for growth in the number of couples
or individuals that can be ministered to at any one time. We ask each of
you to support us through your prayers, physical support(labor),
and/or through your donations for this new facility. Contributions are tax-exempt. They may be in the form of cash or non cash gifts, which can be converted to cash for use in growing the ministry. Stocks that have significant appreciation may provide a tax advantage for the donor. Though God has truly
blessed The Plantings over the last nine years, we believe that His best
work through this ministry remains to be accomplished. Please pray for
God to show you His will as you consider supporting The Plantings.
